Leonardo has been active in Australia since 1885 with the delivery of 30 torpedos to Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Today, Leonardo is a key player in Aerospace, Defence and Security solutions, with a significant in-country base of installed equipment across Australia and operating sites in Melbourne, Perth and Nowra.
In 2020 Leonardo Australia acquired local company Partech Systems, a leader in the provision of avionics test and repair solutions for the most complex aviation platforms. The Leonardo site in Nowra continues to provide avionics and electronics test equipment for the defence and civil aviation sectors, as well as advanced engineering and maintenance services for helicopter and naval communications. Leonardo Australia designs and manufactures automatic test system (ATS) test program sets (TPS) and special to type test equipment (STTE) required to test, repair and qualify avionics components for flight.
